MS Office Forum / Outlook / Calendaring / September 2006Shared Calendars
Hello, I would like to share calendars between 5 people. I know that Outlook works great when you're using exchange server, but what about when you're using POP3? If not, is there another program that anyone knows about / likes for sharing calendars? I have Microsoft Server 2003. Thanks! You would need some other solution to sync/share the contacts and appointments but I don't really have any suggestions for that. However, I highly recommend you investigate Exchange Server. You don't even have to host it yourself. There are plenty of low-cost Exchange Server hosting companies with no minimums. NetFolders is no more supported by Microsoft because this technology was to incorrectly. Another problem (for me) that we have with "sync programs" like netfolders is the less security. If you would get a virus on one computer, this virus will be synchronized to all integrated clients. The time difference for the entries will be also a problem for us and that this solutions woulnd´t have a "record locking" if 2 or more users would open the same items.
