XP 11.8010.8028 SP2; when I try to send iCalendar appointment from home PC to
office with same XP versions, when click on *.ics attachment it does not
allow me to accept it as an appointment in my Office Calendar. Instead it
presents an email template with the (tick) Accept, (?) Tentative, (X) Decline
etc options grayed out and my home email address in the To... Box and the
Appointment details in the Subject Box. It works fine Office to Home and from
other PCs to my Office.

Have you tried not using the iCalendar format?
