Outlook XP SP3

We have noticed that when Out of Office is turned on Meetings do not
automatically go to the celndar as a tentative meeting. Because of this,
staff are are able to send multiple meeting for a same time period because
nothing shows on the calendar.

Delegates and their managers do not want the Auto Accept meeting turned on.
They would rather make the choice to accept or not.

Is this a bug or is there soemthing that needs to be configured. I can nto
find anything in the Tools/Options

I think the out-of-office setting may be a red herring. The "sniffer" that puts meetings in the calendar marked as tentative runs only when Outlook is running. WHen the user is out of the office, Outlook isn't running, is it?

Sorry  I was waiting for an email with a response and never got it.

That was my thought as well as some rules require Outlook to be open. But
not in this case.

tried having a test sent to my calendar with my Out of Office turned on and
my calendar did not accept it. I had outlook open and was watcihing for the
invite. When i turned off Out of Office, the meeting went to my calendar as
tentative. This has been happening for several of our Management staff. They
do have secretaries who have delegate rights to their managers calendars.
