Is there a way I can make and save a job template for, say, 30 days' worth of
various appointments, and then apply that template to Calendar when I need to
schedule that job?

One way would be to create a second calendar folder and put your "template"
appointments in it, then drag them to the main calendar when you want to
schedule them.  Even though the dates will age on the second calendar, if
you display that calendar in a table view, they'll always be visible and you
can drag them to the correct date on the Date Navigator to change their
dates.
