How do I change the reminder time for an all-day event?

I have a number of birthdays set up as annual recurring all-day events in
Outlook 2003, with reminders set for a week before.

Is there any way that I can change the time that the reminder flashes
up/sounds as it always sounds at midnight the week before, when I would
prefer it to remind me at, say, 9am the week before. This is a particular
problem as I synchronise my Windows Mobile Phone/Pocket PC with Outlook and
obviously that is always on and therefore can be annoying when sounding at
midnight.

I know that I could change the appointments so that they were only for part
of a day, but I would prefer that the birthdays could be shown as all-day
events and change the time of the reminder so that it is not at midnight the
week before.

Is the answer that I need to work out exactly how many hours in advance I
want the reminder to sound? (ie 159 hours before the start of the
appointment, being 9 hours less than a full week). Surely there must be a
better, more user-friendly solution than converting "just less than a week"
to a number of hours?

Thanks in anticipation.

The reminder for all-dat events always defaults to 18 hours.  That's
hard-coded and can't be changed, according to what I've read.  If you need
another reminder, you'll have to open the event and change the reminder
time.
