Is there a way in Outlook 03 and/or 07 to automatically move email messages
into the calendar to the date and time they were received?

If this must be done with a rule, does anyone have one already setup?

Thanks in advance and Happy New Year to all!!!

It is possible to use a rule to "Move" the email into the Calendar
folder. However, the danger of doing what you wish, is that
when the email moves into the calendar folder:

- It will no longer be visible
- It will not "auto-magically" turn into an appointment.

Perhaps if you explain, in a little more detail, what your goal
is with this email, someone may have a better solution for you.

Most all of my emails on the account I want to do this on are work
related..ie responses from contractors, requests from other agencies
etc...fire reports etc. I would like them stored on my calendar so I only
have to look in 1 place on my computer or blackberry to find them, but more
importantly can show them relationally to other things that were done the
same day...

Example. A contractor emails a request for a fire alarm inspection at
8:00AM. The inspection is completed at 12:00 the next day. The contractor
complains that it took too long to get an inspection. Using only my calendar
I can see/show his request vs. inspection in relation to everything else that
had to be done in that period of time.

Example 2. I receive via email, all incidents that the fire departments are
dispatched to in my jurisdiction. Again, using only my calendar, I can
see/show when these incidents took place, what else was going on in that time
frame, determine any patterns in the times the incidents are happening and
create a timeline of the incidents.

Thanks again for any input on this and Happy New Year.

I use Contacts and the Activities Tab on the Contacts.

Example:

Contact Name: Aunt Dori
- I get an email from Aunt Dori
- I set up a Meeting for Breakfast with her by dragging her
Contact onto the Calendar and setting the time and date.

When I open the Contact named "Aunt Dori" and select the
ACTIVITIES tab, Outlook performs a quick find and brings into
the view, all my activity with Aunt Dori.

See Slipstick site for more information:
