Thanks Diane, yep have spoken to Motorola, HP , Cingular, as per all of them
no issues with their products.
Motorola customer service person specifically told me that there is no
setting on the phone to be adjusted, it just takes what it gets.

Outlook uses UTC on the appointment and the computers time zone to display
the correct time for your area. It sounds like the device is taking the UTC
time and not applying it's time zone to the things it gets from outlook.
Assuming the device's time and time zone are correct, there a mobile
newsgroup on this same server and the experts there could tell you if you
have something misconfigured.
