Turn off the Auto Preview feature.

Sadly I've tried that, since posting. It works on my PC but not on the PC I'm
trying to fix. I should have posted: How do you not display the details when
turning off auto preview doesn't work?

How did you turn it off -- did you just click the button on the Advanced
toolbar or did you switch to a folder view that doesn't have AP turned on by
default?  Try creating a new view from scratch, without AP turned on, and see
if that works.

Hi
the new view seems to have worked.
Thanks,
Matt
