Can Outlook 2003 import its own ics files properly?

Because I imported a file (I had synced with Itunes and an Ipod). But it put
it under Calendars/my calendars, and it only had one entry in it (there was
more than 1 entry).

Or am I doing something wrong, to not see the rest of the entries I had
added to the calendar (before I synced the outlook calendar with iTunes and
this Ipod)?

Same goes for the contacts, I had synced 15 contacts
previously, but when I imported them back into Outlook there was nothing
there.

Whats the point of syncing / exporting contacts and the entries u put in the
calendar, when u cant import them back into Outlook again?

You're doing nothing wrong. Outlook's iCal file can contain only a single
item. It will export only a single calendar item and it will import only a
single calendar item when using iCal format. In fact, you can't "export" to
an iCal file at all. You must use File>Save As on an open calendar item to
generate an .ics file.

How did you perform the export?

Well I didnt actually export anything.

After I had entered the contacts/info in the calendar (In Outlook), I ran
Itunes and connected the Ipod to Sync them. Which was fine.

Then your beef is with iTunes, not Outlook. You're "accusing" the wrong
product. Outlook doesn't have anything to do with synching. That's the
responsibility of the sync software.

And without Outlook, it wouldnt sync. Coz Outlook is needed for it to sync.

So, the contacts and calendar (whatever you've entered end up on the Ipod).
Which is working.

So if it can do this, why cant it do it the other way round?

So, if I'm driving somewhere and run out of gas or crash, it's the car's
fault? I'll tell the police that if it ever happens.

Obviously, but it is NOT Outlook DOING the synching.

You'll have to ask iTunes. It's their software doing the sync.

All this said, my question (related, and posted elsewhere in this message
board) then is how an Outlook user export an entire calendar into iCalendar
or vCalendar format without doing one item at a time?

Good point I spose.

Im not actually using Itunes to import whatever
back into Outlook, I'm using the import function
in Outlook.

Oh well no loss I'll remember to export wab files from OE next time before I
format lol. At least they work properly for contacts in OE.

And then I'll let Outlook pick them up once I reinstall it, when and if I
format again.

If iTunes supports csv files, you'd be better off using that form.

Of cource, Outlook won't import a WAB, either.
