Outlook 2003/exchange 2003.

Is there any way to have exchange generate an out of office message based on
the outlook calendar?  It seems to me that since both objects are stored
in/generated by the Exchange Server, that it should be a no-brainer.

for example, if I make a calendar entry that makes me out of office for a
week while on vacation, others (in my org) can 'see' that when they are
scheduling meetings, why can't Exchange autogenerate a message that the
requested user is currently out of the office, and include a boiler-plate
text such as:
for urgent issues please contact my assistant Joe Blow (jblow@mycompany.com,
999-123-4567; or for emergencies, please contact the on-call network
operations engineer at 000-555-1212.

If you are using Outlook 2007 and Exchange 2007, I believe that this function exists.  I have not yet installed Ex2007 into my test environment but will be doing so shortly.
