Can anyone offer any help?

Running Outlook 2003 SP2

When I try to edit an appointment in Outlook 2003, the appointment is
changed to a recurring appointment when I click on "Save and Close." In order
to make the recurrence disappear, I have to click "all recurring," remove the
recurrence, then save and close. It's very frustrating!

I have searched the micorsoft site and haven't been able to locate a fix
that applies to my problem.  Any suggestions, fixes, or update information is
greatly appreciated!!!

Thanks!
