Thanks to all who respond ... in advance.
I need to link cells in excel containing completion dates for projects to my
outlook calender and then generate alerts to my team members.  This is a US
government office in Kabul, Afghanistan connected to an exchange server.  All
help and advice is welcome.

No such linkage is built into either program. You would need to write code to handle all the linking you want to accomplish, for example, VBA code in the worksheet to generate email alert messages.

Thanks Sue, I suspected as much.  I have talked to our IT folks but they are
reluctant to write the necessary links, security issues etc.  I am trying to
convert my team to MS Project where I believe this can be done.  Appreciate
your time.

Yes, Project does have some linkages built in, but I haven't worked with it myself, though.
