Reminder Cannot Be Dismissed

I am trying to dismiss a meeting reminder and I receive the following error
message:

"Cannot turn off reminder. You may be reminded again. Cannot locate
recurrence information for this appointment."

I have been through the steps multiple times of starting outlook with the
different switches such as /cleanreminders, /cleanfreebusy, /cleanprofile,
/cleanfolders, etc.  However, none of those actions have stopped the reminder
from showing up.

I am running Outlook 2007 through with my Exchange account.  The interesting
thing is that the reminder does not show up when I access my account through
webmail.  There problem is that there is no appointment associated with the
reminder so there is no appointment that I can go open and alter.

I have even deleted my profile on my computer, removed the cached data file,
and set back up an Exchange email account on the computer.  Even after that
action the reminder still appears.

Any thoughts on how to correct this?
