I have the Date Navigator set to automatically show 3 or 4 months in
calendar--day, work week, and week views. However, when I go to the Month
View, the Date Navigator goes away. So, I have to go drag it open--tedious.
Is there a fix to always allow the Date Navigator to stay up in the Month
View?

Not as far as I know in that version. It changes in 2003.
