User is meeting organizer and has changed positions at the company. She no
longer supports the group for whom she organized the meeting. She would like
to delete the calendar item from her calendar but not cancel the meeting or
send updates to attendees.

Is this a one off instance of a meeting or a recurring meeting?

She has some single instance meetings and some recurring meetings.

So now the question doesn't make sense as you only mention 1 meeting.. To
provide a relevant answer, I'll need to know:

Which meeting does she want to delete?
What are its properties?

Thanks I'll check with the user and get specifics about each meeting she
needs to delete. I think she wants to delete any that she scheduled while
supporting the group in her previous position.
