One of our users has her calendar filled with meetings and events. She says
that after about a month or so, these events disappear. She needs them to
stay. This may be related to the autoarchiving. How does autoarchive handle
calendar events and how can I prevent these events from disappearing?
AutoArchive acts on the most recent date involved on an Outlook item. For
calendar items, this is often the end date of the appointment -- except if
the appointment has been edited afterward, in which case the modified date
would be the latest, and AutoArchive would use that.

Does autoarchiving remove (delete) the calendar item completely, or place it
in the archive folder. I thought the archive folder did not contain calendar
events.

The Archive file can contain any kind of Outlook item, though AutoArchive is
never enabled on Contacts folders. You can, however, move Contact items
manually to an Archive file.
Archiving removes the item from the original file but puts it in the Archive
file, unless you have set archiving to permanently delete the item.
