Multiple-All Day Event Only Shows On Begining Of Week ??

Hi,

Outlook 2007 on WinXP SP2.

I thought this was another oddity of the To-Do Bar.  Guess I can't
place blame on that goofy thing this time (yes it's very functional,
but way to limited/locked down in comparison to OL2000).

Anyway Here's this problem:

I have an All-Day event created for multiple days, Friday thru
Monday.  I can see it at the begining of the week, but I cannot see
the event if I look at Friday in day-view, unless I create another All-
Day event -then it shows up in day view along with the event I just
created.  What's up?!?  I've deleted & recreated the multi-day event,
just in case it's something I did during the event creation.
Restarted OL several times.  Still I'm stumped.

I'm able to recreate this scenario, so it's not my install/workstation
or views.  Is this something that has some kinda of *special* learning
curve like the To-Do bar?  I thought an event or appointment is just
that.  What the heck would it matter what view I use, or what day
starts the week or if I view a work week....

Any Help is desperately needed.......
thx

okay so I got messin around as I couldn't see how this is possible.
I found out some behaviors:
If Outlook is maximized, there's no appearant event viewing problem
as described above.
BUT - if the window is resized, the problem will show up if the
current view is >Day/Week/Month view w/Auto Preview.

So does this mean Outlook has to be full screen other inherent
behaviors?

??????  Any input appreciated........

FWIW, there is some buggyness with the all day events and outlook 2007,
although this is a new one to me.

You mention that you can see it if you maximize the screen - what size
window do you normally work with in Outlook? Do you see the scroll bar on
the right side? In my repro, there is a small triangle when the all day
event isn't showing but it doesn't show the event.

Diane,
I suppose there would be.  Nothing's perfect.
Normally work w/ a 40~60% window.  Even w/ a virtual desktop mgr I
continue to pack several apps in each.  Only a terminal session gets
my full atten w/ a max window.  The scroll bar is visible, but this
owuld only be for appts, not an all-day event (right?).
The problem shows up if I dont' have a maximized window & have the
current view set to >Day/Week/Month view w/Auto Preview.
I have found a work-around for this (in my last post):  If I don't run
a max window (which is 99% of the time) & set the current view to >Day/
Week/Month w/o the AutoPreview, the problem is *resolved*.

Thanks for your reply, jeff

...now for the very-few concrete settings in the ToDo Bar...........

I repro'd a view problem and reported it -  I used the default view - not
the one with autopreview though (I can't repo it using the autopreivew
view).

A video of it is at
http://www.slipstick.com/_bugs/disappearingevents/disappearingevents.html -
if it looks to be the same problem I won't add to the report.

Diane,

I watched your vid & are now horrified.  I thought I was loosing my
mind with missing events.  The problem I described is similarly based
on the specific size of the window.  Depending on the size (but not
position) I can bias the results by using the view as described
earlier.  I'd venture to say these problems are related.

This is very bad, but until a patch, I will relay, 'maximize the
window' to colleagues.
BTW -Yes to the inverted small triangle.  I get the same.
Thx, jeff
