I have already made a change to a recurring event once
I need to change it again, but Outlook has locked me out. How can I either
change it again, or get rid of the whole thing and start again? Many thanx!

Define what you mean by "locked me out".  Include the version of Outlook in
your reply.

I'm running Outlook 2007 on Windows XP. The message says:
"Cannot open this item. You changed one of the recurrences of this item and
this instance no longer exists. Close any open items and try again."
