Calendar Items in Office XP

My daughter is running Office XP. If I send her a meeting notice it comes
across as asimple e-mail message with the meeting infoin text in the body of
the e-mail. It doesnot come acrosss as a caledar item she can accept, reject,
etc.

Have you tried forcing Rich Text Format for this recipient?  Double click the email address in Contacts and select the option to always use Rich Text Format.
