I'm not using a public folder, but rather a private mailbox, so how
would I prevent overlapping appointments? I searched on "disallow overlapping
appointments", but it's only referring to Schedule + - not specifically to
Outlook. Seems like there should be a toggle switch to allow or disallow
concurrent appointments, but I can't seem to locate it. Can someone direct
me to the place where I can disallow overlapping appointments?

I think that there is no such place - What Outlook will do is warn you in
the info bar (a strip at the top of the Item) that this meeting conflicts
with an existing meeting.

But that's the problem - it's not popping up the warning that there's an
overlapping appointment. It just lets me make the overlapping appointment
without any warning.

I didn't say anything would "pop up".
