The set-up is as follows: we all use outlook with exchange, however one
person also has a POP3 account when logged in (different email address etc,
but urgent mail) When he opens the navigation pane in outlook and pages down
he can "open a shared calendar" but not "share my calendar" - is there any
reason for this? Or should it be possible to run more than one account out of
outlook at the same time and still share your calendar through exchange?

Which account is your default mail account? I might be wrong but I think you
can only share your calendar when your Exchange account is the default and
it's the calendar in that mailbox

calendar.
