I use outlook to keep my appts with my blackberry but I don't always need the
30mins that it defaults to.  I'd like to be able to change it to a less
amount of time.  Is it possible

Are you speaking of the default duration of an appointment?  If so, 30
minutes is the minimum in the New Appointment form.  If you want a smaller
value, you can set your calendar time scale to a smaller value and then
preselect the range before clicking New.  You can, of course, adjust the
duration while in the New Appointment (or Meeting) form prior to saving it.
