If you display your calendar in a table view such as recurrence, can you then open the items? You may have a damaged view and may need to reset it.

I just tried it, and yes, I can open recurring appointments with this view.
But, do you know what I can do to open recurring appts in the day/week/month

I found how to reset the view, but still have same problem. Any other
sugesstions?

Do you have Google Desktop Search on your computer? And is it enabled
to search your emails? I had the same problem as you; once I removed
GDS (for other reasons), all was well again.
