When I edit a contact, Outlook duplicates the dates, ie anniversary and
birthday, which are "auto entered" into the calendar. It also activates the
reminder sound option on the new event created.
I believe (but not verified) that it has something to do with my
synchronisation with Windows Smartphone.
How do I:
1. stop the auto-entry of the anniversary and birthdates?
2. if I cannot stop the auto-entry, then how do I stop the reminder sound
option from being activated?
I know I can use a duplicate remover and manually turn off the reminder
option, but I want to obviate the need for manual intervention.
Thanks.

When I've had this problem, I've deleted the old of the two calendar entries
and modified the other to have the settings I want (one time). After that,
changing the contact doesn't add a new one.
