Live Search Maps for Outlook - Location Markers missing

I'm using OL 2007 Pro with the Live Search Maps for Outlook Add-In.
It functions fine in terms of searching for locations and displaying maps.

However, when it was first installed, it used to show a green and red
location marker on the map for the Start Location and Appointment Location
respectively.

Now those markers are missing. Instead there is a standard red x (broken
image link) on the map where the marker should be displayed.

Any clues on how this might have happened or how I might debug the issue?
I've tried an uninstall/reinstall of the add-in as well as an installation
repair.

The environment is: OL 2007 Pro running on Vista Ultimate.

Thanks
A.

obviously the pin icon is not available :) I noticed it last week and I'm
pretty sure its not an outlook problem but rather a map service problem.
