I have a client with Outlook 2003 (SP3); scanpst.exe finds no errors in his
PST (but did fix some when I first ran it).
All the appointments, except for recurring ones, disappear after about 30
(maybe 33 or so days).
Not only is autoarchive turned OFF globally, it's disabled for every folder
individually in the PST file.
Yet the appointments continue to disappear (except for recurring ones)
trailing about 33 days.
The client also uses a Blackberry with the latest MobileSync 3, and I looked
over MobileSync's settings but didn't find anything that would delete
appointments.
I also searched my client's hard drive for every .pst file thinking maybe
appointments had been archived, but this didn't help.
I've never seen this problem before and thought initially I would fix his
problem just by turning off autoarchive and disabling archiving for every
folder, but autoarchive was already off. The problem persists.
suspects:
(1) corrupt outlook settings in the registry?
(2) a virus? (Norton then AVG found nothing)
(3) mobilesync bug?

correction:
I meant the latest ACTIVESYNC, not MobileSync.

I didn't think Blackberries were Windows Mobile devices. My money's on the
sync tool.

It's a very common problem with a blackberry.

Sorry about this:
My client is using a Motorola Q phone with ActiveSync -- not a Blackberry.
(I have over 350 clients and was posting about his problem offsite and
forgot.)
Do you still think it's a sync device issue?

Having the same problem - losing appts from OUTLOOK. Sync device is TREO/Palm.
What are people doing to ensure calendars are correct? We are losing
appoitments left and right - don't know what is falling off and when.
Any advice?

check the device and sync software - it usually happens because you have the
device set to hold 30 days back and delete. So it deletes then syncs with
outlook and deletes...
