Categorizing problem

When I categorize appointments w/a color code, the next time I open Outlook
there is a second category included on some of the appointments.  There is no
rhyme or reason to why.  My computer is an HP, not Dell.  I am using Outlook
2007.

Yes, I am syncing with a Motorola Q via a USB and am about to set up wireless
sync.
