error "cannot save item" when adding to calendar in outlook?

how do i deal with the "cannot save item" error in outlook? one solution i
found was to delete the .ost files and allow them to be recreated, but there
are no .ost files in my outlook folder. any other ideas please?

what type of email acct do you use? did you try starting outlook with the
cleanviews switch?
