Hello, I've been told that Outlook can show me free/busy times in other
people's calendar, even if I don't have permission to view their calendars.

Can this be done? If so, how do I do it?

Thanks in advance!

are they on same exchange server you use?  if so, go to a meeting request,
scheduling tab and add them to the invitee list.
