Synchronization is happening one direction only

I use Microsoft Outlook 2003, HP iPAQ h2215, and ActiveSync 4.5 for my
calendar. When I create an appointment on Outlook and attempt to synchronize
(by right-clicking the ActiveSync icon in the notification area and
selecting Sychronize), it does not get sent to my iPAQ. However, if I create
an appointment on my iPAQ, it successfully synchronizes automatically. But
even after the appointment(s) created on my iPAQ get synced into Outlook,
the appointment(s) created in Outlook still aren't synced to my iPAQ. It's
almost as if ActiveSync doesn't realize that appointments created in Outlook
are supposed to get synchronized. Is there something I need to do that I
could be forgetting? Thanks.

check the options in the sync software. Note that 2 way sync will delete
appointments if you delete them on the second device.

What are you referring to when you say sync software? I could not find
anything about 2 way synchronizing in the options for ActiveSync.

I'm pretty sure it is in the options but I don't have it installed in this
system to verify exactly where to look.
