I hope someone can help as I have tried all the other online sources.

When I first open outlook a calendar is shown residing in the Mailbox
folder, and is the default caledar on display. There is also a Calendar
folder which contains another calendar. At the time I set up and transferred
the data it appears to made two copies of the original calendar -one in the
Mailbox folder, and another in the Calendar folder. If I switch out of the
Mailbox to, say contacts, then this folder disappears and I can only get
into the alternate calendar in the Calendar folder. There is no way I can
get back to the original calendar display without restarting Outlook again.

How do I get rid of one of these calendars as it causes confusion to know
which one is on screen at anyone time. I don 't care which one goes.

Heeeeeeeeeeeeeeelp!

If you switch to the Calendar view of your navigation pane, does it show up again?  Was this a failed import?  If yes, display the second calendar in a by category view and copy items to your default calendar FOLDER.
