it sets the calendar week to begin on that day - i.e. if you prefer a
mon -sun calendar you'll set Monday as the first day but if you prefer sun -
sat layout, you'll set it for Sunday.
I don't think it has anything to do with recurring appointments.

Hi Diane
Thanks for response. Please follow following steps to see how does 'first
day of week' affects recurring appointments.
Step 1. Set first day of week as sunday.
Step 2. Create a weekly appointment with Recurring every 2 weeks. And, days
as Sunday and Monday. Enable 'No End date' option.
Step 3. Set first day of week as Monday. Repeat Step 2.
Step 4. Open calendar in month view. Check for occurences for appointments
created. Please look for change in pattern.

What do you see that I am supposed to see? Everything looks fine from here
to Dec 2020.
It works the recurrences going forward, not backwards, so if you want a
sunday-monday pair, you need to start the recurrence on Sunday, otherwise it
will be every other week, alternating on sunday and monday. or make it a 2
day event every other Sunday.
