importing windows vista calendar to outlook calendar

I have been using windows calendar but can't sync this with my blackberry so
I want to move everything to outlook, the 2002 version.  I export windows
calendar info and then try to import into outlook but I get error messages:
import failed.  file may be corrupt.  can't complete the operation. one or
more parameter values may not be valid.

Can anyone tell me how to export a calendar file from vista's windows
calendar that I can successfully import to outlook?  Or better yet, how to
sync directly with a Blackberry pearl.  Verizon tech says it can't be done
... that I must use outlook ... even though the salesperson said it was
possible before buying.

In what format are you exporting it from Windows Contacts?

You can tell how often I export from Vista's Calendar: never.  I've never
even opened it.

it's the same format as outlook uses - it’s the internet standard for
calendaring.

I was under the impression only Outlook 2007 could read multiple events from
an ICS file, but that Vista's Calendar creates multiple event ICS files.
Since the OP is using OL 2002, there appears to be no good way to export
from the Vista Calendar without one of those third-party add-ins that allow
Outlook to handle multi-event ICS files.

The new mobile sync center can't handle blackberries? outlook 2002 can't
handle multi-event calendars. I'd be surprised if it can sync with the
blackberry as its buggy on Vista.
