Importing twice iCalendar files

If I import twice an iCalendar file, Outlook will generate twice the
same events.
How can I avoid this? Is there a way Outlook can recognize the fact it
already received the same event and do not open another one?
It seems like the same UID is not enough: it creates twice the same
event.
(I use Outlook 2K)

You can't. Outlook doesn't recognize duplicates in such cases.
