Every time I would start up a new meeting request the default reminder would show 15 minutes. Now it shows 18 hours. How can I correct this so that the default reminder shows 15 minutes again instead of 18 hours? Tools, options then right there in the middle of that screen is the default setting. I have the same problem and the default setting is set to 15 minutes -- yet all new reminders are set to 18 hours. If you are creating an appointment by double clicking in the calendar, you are actually creating an Event, which defaults to 18 hours. If you create a new Appointment using the File->New->Appointment, the default reminder time will match what you set under the Calendar Options.
