Is there a way that I can display a shared folder Calendar side by side with
my calendar.  I have mail enabled the shared folder Calendar. When I have my
calendar displayed, I select open outher users files, I pick calendars and
select to look in public folders, here I see the calendar I want to open
(looks like it has a contacts Icon). Then when Outlock tries to open the
shared folder Calendar I get the following error "The server mail box cannot
be opend because this address book entry is not a mail user".  I'd have to
agree that a mail enabled calendar in the shared folders is not a 'real' mail
user, but it would be nice to display the shared folder calander along side
my calander.  I am running Exchange 2000, if that makes a difference.

You'll need to drag the folder into Public Folders\Favorites first.

Sue, I did  drag the folder into the Public Folders\Favorites, it had been in
All Public folders.  Now when I open up my calendar and I want to open the
calendar in the Public Folders\favorites I'm stumped, I click on file, other
users folders and select public folders I think all I see is the Calendar
that is still in All Public folders, as draging the calendar into Public
Folders\Favorites leaves a copy behind.  And there does not seem to be a
selection to view just the items in Public folders\Favorites.  So I am stuck
with the same problem.  As an experiment, I tried opening the calendar in the
Public folders Favorites first and then doing the the file, other users
folders, selecting my self, what happens is it opens my calendar full screen,
rather then placing it side-by-side with the calendar from the Public
Folders\Favorites that was already displayed.   I have been fighting how to
see the Public Folders calendars, by Mail-enabling them, so that I could
select them to be open when I had my calendar open.  My experiment with
opening the Public folders calendar first and then opening my personal
calendar gets farther, as I get no errors, however the desired result of
having a side-by-side view is not met.  Is this by design,  or is there
another way to have a side-by-side view of my calendar with a calendar that
is in the Public folders be it All Public folders and/or Favorites?  Exchange
2000 is the mail server behind the Outlook 2003 I am using.

Normally, any calendar folder in Favorites should be in the Other Calendars
list automatically, listed as Some Calendar in Public Folders, unless the
user removed it from the Other Calendars list at some earlier time.

Other comments inline.

Of course it's still in All Public Folders. Putting it in Favorites causes
Outlook 2003 in Cached Exchange mode to cache the folder for you locally. It
doesn't remove it from the online Public Folders hierarchy.

There's no problem. They're the same folder.
