That functionality has nothing to do with Outlook and everything to do with
ActiveSync. Sorry. No advances in Outlook for PDA synchronization. However
there are a good number of tools out there for PDAs to sync multiple message
stores.

You say that but I have to disagree. The tools that I've found don't have
anything to do with ActiveSync. What they do is 'copy' or sync the public
folder with the personal folder. Then ActiveSync syncs the personal folder
with the folders on the PDA.
So I guess I shouldn't have mentioned PDAs. So let me ask the question
again:
Will the new version of outlook allow you to synchronize a public folder
with a personal folder?
I'm mostly looking to synchronize a public calendar with a personal
calendar.
Thanks for the help!

The reason the tools do what you say is that they are working around the
ActiveSync limitation.
The new version of Outlook doesn't sync public folders with personal
folders. Sorry.
