Can you try to open the first item of the series and make a small change to
it?
Might help.. might not.

Thanks John for getting back to me on this. Actually, the problem was you
couldn't get the recurring meeting opened, thus it was not possible to modify
the first instance of it.

The fix is the same as the one mentione at this link:
http://www.mcse.ms/message1136444.html

Close Outlook - find and rename frmcache.dat to old. The path is:

C:\Documents and Settings\Manny.MAS\Local Settings\Application
Data\Microsoft\FORMS\FRMCACHE.DAT (I renamed this to FRMCACHE.OLD and that
did the trick).

Aha... and do you have SP1 installed already because that is supposed to fix
the formscache problems..
So having this problem while sp1 was installed would imply that the sp1 fix
is not working always.

I have Outlook 2002 with the same problem, but renaming the frmchache.dat to
"old' did not work.  An ideas?

Jane,
I was not aware of the problem until now. Have you tried the inbox repair
tool ? Or are you connected to an Exchange server.
Installed all service packs also from office.mcrosoft.com?

regards,
John

I have tried the inbox "detect and repair" function twice, and have been
vigilant about keeping up to date with any Microsoft updates for XP
Professional or for Outllook.  I am not on an exchange server - I am running
this on a single PC at home via a cable connection.

I've tried a number of the repairs recommended on this thread, including
running the "outlook.exe\cleanreminders" suggestion, but to no avail.  I'd be
temped to just delete Outlook and reinstall, but I'd need to reinstall my
.pst files and well, and they are probably contaminated as well.  I can't
afford to dump all my data... aagghhhhh!  Very frustrating.  Thanks for your
reply by the way

You could try to create/open a new pst and create a calendar folder in it.
then on you current calendar select View-By Category and select all, copy
and paste to the newly created calendar..and then see if the items in the new
folder work correctly.

It won't hurt... don't know if it fixes anything.

regards,
John
