Problem with creating new events in calendar

I am a new outlook calendar user.  Reason being, that I just bought an HP
pocket PC and the OS is PC 2003 on it where all email and calendar
synchronization takes place through outlook.  I am used to dealing with Palm
operating sytems and like I just said recently switched.  I am creating new
events in calendar and am having a hard time.  My problem or questiion rather
is; Is there a way that I can delete or not show the blocks of time that I am
not using.  For example I have a meeting at 1pm to 5pm.  All the time slots
from 1am till 1pm are not being used which just wastes space for that twelve
hours of time not being used.  And also if for example since my meeting is 4
hours long, is there a way for the calendar to just show: 1:00pm    Meeting
5:00pm
....instead of showing all the blank increments of time between those two
times slots and blanking them out with white:
1:00pm    Meeting
1:30pm
2:00pm
2:30pm
3:00pm
.... and so on till
5:00pm

Please I am in desperate need of help!!!

You can't delete any blocks of time but you can set your Calendar Options to
show, say, a start time of 8 AM and an end time of 5 PM every day.  That
block of time will be highlighted on the daily calendar and the 8 AM block
will be at or near the top of the calendar when you open it(depending on how
much screen real estate you have showing at the time) so you don't have to
look at the earlier hours if you don't need to.  There's no way to avoid
having the 4-hour meeting show as a multi-line block on your calendar, that
I know of.  I use Palms too and they're definitely not the same as far as
calendar function.
