I couldn't find a download on MS site.

I checked out that site, and there was a disclaimer
"Outlook 2002's holiday list runs through 2005, so it won't need a refresh
for a while"

But it is less than a month to 2005, and I am already planning things for
2006 and beyond. Has anyone located a holiday add-in got Outlook 2002 that
goes beyond Calendar Year 2005?

Thanks

That page also lists other sources of dates, as does

Sue,

I checked pretty thoroughly thru BOTH those pages, and though there are all sorts of things available, US Holidays for Calendar Years 2006 and beyond, for Outlook 2002, are not apparently available.

Calendar-Updates.com - only has US Holidays thru 2005
CalenGo - links to information about "School Boundary Proposal Affecting LR Green Students"
Common Worship - Lectionary 2003 to 2004 - Nah, and almost obsolete anyway
DateDex - "Huge collection of dates for events, meetings," - well, actually, just religious calendars for outlook - coptic, gregorian, islamic, hebrew, etc...
Dates and Data - "Error 404 - file not found"
Get the Schedule - "Download sports team schedules...." useful as it is, NOT what I am looking for
Holiday Updates - thats the one that says "it won't need a refresh for a while"
Infuzer 5-day weather feed - useful as it is, NOT what I am looking for
Liturgical Calendar - see above
Lunabar 98  see above
Lunar Phase Calendar Entries - see above
Outlook NameDays - see above
Public Holiday Calendar for Outlook - "Add holidays to Outlook from your home country and other countries you choose. Free." Sounded promising, clicked thru, and got a Domain Registration site that told me that the referenced site "has been registered for a client by Easyspace."

The links on the other page were equally useful..........

SOOOOOOOOO.... does anybody have any suggestions BESIDES "slipstick" as to where on can get  holidays  add-on for Outlook 2002 that
goes beyond Calendar Year 2005???

I know of no other site that tries to keep on top of the thousands of
resources available for Outlook. Perhaps you'll want to try a Google search.

"tries to keep up with"....is THAT what you think slipstick does??  I mean
really, do you think that a gregorian calendar is as crucial as US Holidays
for the majority of Outlok users?

I will Google, but I was checking here first to see if anyone had any
specific sources - and PLEASE dont send people on wild goose chases. Come
on, you promoted this site as if you knew it DID have what we were asking
about. Unless you have specific knowledge of content, you should say
"XYZ.com MAY have what you want, give it a try" -as opposed to "See xyz.com
and xyz.com/thisthattheotherpage.html"

Yes, that's exactly what it does, and thousands is not an understatement --
a constant stream of new utilities and resources, plus with broken links and
dead sites to try to track down. All on a free site run by one person for
the benefit of the Outlook community. Of course, it's impossible to know on
any given day if it will have the perfect answer to a question, but you'll
find more information there than any other single source except, as Milly
was kind enough to point out, Microsoft itself.

If you want to start your own site to keep track just of date resources, I'm
sure Diane would be happy to link to it and let someone else watch that
little corner of the Outlook world.

Sucks to not use Microsoft Office Downloads as the first place to look:

And Sue does not deserve your derision.  I would bet my pets' lives that she
has contributed a zillion times more to the online community than your
whiny, petulant, and poorly written response to a FREE online community
assistance (not staffed by paid folks but volunteers) group.

Have a well-deserved holiday.  I leave it to you to figure out what is most
deserved.

"Whiny and petulant"? Oh please, you are being WAY too thin-skinned if you consider that I ask someone to check their sources before referring, as "whiny and petulant."  That Sue may have contributed so well and so often to this group is irrelevant to the moment,  and actually just makes it even MORE of a gaffe NOT to check the references before posting them as givens. Damn,  at least disclaim that "____.com MAY have the info you are seeking" Else one reaches a level similar to those who immediately forward Missing Children or Computer Virus emails without, say, checking hoaxkill.com.

As for "poorly written", I take umbrage. There may be one grammatical error ("as if you knew it did" could probably be better, but hey, it was written in a hurry) Other than that, it was pretty clean. Unlike a piece of your own, to be sure.
FTR, if you dont want to be accused of Poor Writing,  dont split your infinitives: "Sucks not to use Microsoft......."  rather than "Sucks to not use...."
More on that content in a while

So, goodness me, I deigned to request not to be sent on wild goose chases. (Notice I didnt say "to not be sent"? Or "to be not sent"?  "Not to be sent" is correct)

How dare I, huh? I wouldnt even have done THAT had there not been about 3 or 4 references to the site - but you know, someone - an "MVP" no less -   tells you three, four times that what you are looking for is located in a particular spot, well, you would tend to trust that they were speaking from experience, not guesswork. That one volunteers information for free does not relieve one of the the simple courtesy of being clear about what they speak, does it? Especially when they are touted as an "MVP"?
Elbow in the ribs?  Yeah, maybe.
"Derision"? Hardly.
If you think those few lines were Derision, then you, Miss Milly, do not know of what you speak.

Ahhh me -  looks like this is One of Those Newsgroups where, if you DARE to critique one of The Regulars, one of their Groupies is bound to come out and flame you. (And yes, Miss Milly, "Whiny and petulant" DOES count as flaming)

BTW, Miss Milly, I DID use MS as the first place to look. And indeed, I saw the page you so kindly reference.
Unfortunately, there is a little caveat:
"This download works with the following Office applications: Outlook 2000"
I for one am not going to launch an executable when MS doesnt tell me it is compatible to my program.
And if you took the time to read the SUBJECT of this thread, your own credibility would be a little greater, and your sarcasm a little less dopey. Well, maybe...

Merry Christmas, Miss Milly
May your stockings get well stuffed and
I will leave it to YOU to decide whether you deserve them to be
;-)

"...NYC" - Ah, I should have guessed.  I think the only other geographical
location that can take as much umbrage as yours is the UK, and at least they
are up front about it.

Run along now and vent someplace where your complaints will be taken
seriously.

"jjlNYC" - you had to GUESS?  To most others, it is pretty obvious
"I take umbrage at...."
You dont count that as "up front" eh? Sorry missy, I'm just not used to dealing with such low perceptivity. I guess people have to speak a little slower when they talk with you, too, yes?

You again demonstrate your hypersensitivity, if you refer to that as venting. Or is it that, in whatever half-horse community you circulate, everything is so petty and everyone so small minded that a little spritz of steam seems like a venting?

You are right on one count, certainly - your inability to take seriously anything that doesnt fit in with your own limited view of the universe

p.s. I'll bet I was right on another count, too. I can just imagine you are one of those manic-types who emailed your entire address book to help find Penny Brown, who wipes off all the pay phone buttons so as not to accidentally aborb a fatal poison, and who is still eagerly awaiting all that $$ from [AOL, Bill Gates, Disney, etc] as a reward for all those hundreds of emails you forwarded.

And I'll bet you always want to get the last word in, too

It doesnt bother ME if you have the last word....but I too have looked
at that microsoft link, and it says it is only for Outlook 2000  - what
I am trying to find is holidays for outlook *2002*. The links that
slipstick references are all either broken, or dont offer the updates

The link is good for all versions of Outlook prior to Outlook 2003.  It was
originally posted to solve the problem with Outlook 2000.  The file has not
been updated but since all versions use the same file format for holidays,
it is good for everything post Outlook 98.

I believe that the file format has changed. When I installed the update it
produced a file called "outlook.txt" . I still couldn't get the holidays to
update, until I saw a file called "outlook.hol" - if you rename the
"outlook.txt" file to outlook.hol" it should work.

Another problem I had was that after installing I got duplicates up to the
end of 2005, so you may need to edit the text file first (look for your
country e.g UK or US), or else afterwards go into "view/current view/active
appointments" and delete any duplicates.

I think it is time Microsoft updated their addin page to include an updated
file for the Outlook XP/2002 version.
