Two Calendars (Exchange and PST) & Sych - Automation?

Setup:
  Exchange Server
  Outlook 2002 (XP)
  Win XP SP1

I have a laptop user who spends most of his time out the office in places
where he cannot connect to the internet.  As a result, he set up a calendar
in a PST so that he can view a calendar when he is not able to connect to the
Exchange Server, or use OWA.

The problem lies in that it is messy and cumbersome to sync his PST calendar
with the Exchange Server because he has to manually copy things over.

Is there a utility or a component of Outlook that will automate this?  Does
Outlook, when paired with Exchange not support mobile users in this way?

Thanks for you help!
