Post all replies to the group to keep the discussion intact.  Due to
the (insert latest virus name here) virus, all mail sent to my personal
account will be deleted without reading.

After furious head scratching, Abarrett1944 asked:

If you were using Personal Folders then do START | Search | Find Files and
Folders and enter "*.pst" (without the quotation marks).
The resulting file should be larger than 32K and the date stamp should be
reasonable in comparison with your most recent use of your email. You will
need to copy this file to your new PC and then set it up as a Personal
Folders service, either by doing an Add or by renaming it to replace your new
pst
