Can I create a calendar that everyone can see, but only our secretary can
write to for scheduling a conference room? I see that it is easy enaough to
share your personal calendar, and to create more personal calendars that
can't be shared. but how can I display a calendar other than my personal
calendar? Any help would be greatly appreciated!! Thanks DMiller.

Are you using Exchange as your server? Outlook version?

The usual course would be to create a mailbox for the conference room and
set the permissions on its Calendar folder as you desired. See
