how do it transfer the responsibility / ownership of a meeting on.

I will be leaving a project.  While in the project I established recurring
meetings using the Calendar feature within MS Outlook.

I would like to transfer the ownership of the meetings so that another
person can modify or delete them as necessary, this way I would not have to
delete them and then have the new person reschedule the same meetings.  If I
have to delete them and then someone else recreate them--each attendee will
get two emails--one canceling the meeting and one establishing the meeting--I
would like to avoid that

You cannot change ownership - the meeting must be regenerated.
