Can I set up a calendar with no time slots?

I just want to add people's names.  This is for a vacation calendar.  If I
click all day appointment for these people it works with no time, but it only
holds about 15 names and then starts hiding them. I then have to pull the
names out and put them in the time slots below.  Would be best if I could
just have no time and put them in a central place.
