When I create a Calendar item, I get the message "The reminder for [the item]
will not appear because the item is not in your Calendar or Tasks folder.  Is
this OK?"  Why is this happening?

Reminders only fire in the default folders created by Outlook, not any
sub-folders that you create.  There is a program, Extended Reminder s, that
will enable reminders in non-default folders in your default message store.
