Our customers, contact details, & comments are in Outlook 2003. These are
details of over 2000 customers who come to our shop. We plan to install
Microsoft Retail Management Software and Microsoft Store Operations, as we
plan to have several shops. How can I copy the customer contact details from
Outlook into MS Retail Management Software? Thankyou.

What types of files can your new application import?

Would also be helpful if you defined "contact details". Are you referring to
just standard contact fields or data contained in a custom form? If it's the
former (standard fields), then all you need to find out (as Sue already
asked) is if your target programs can import files created by the Outlook
export function (i.e. .CSV being the most common).

If it's the latter (custom form/fields) - feel free to get a hold of me
privately (please identify this thread as the source of your query for
reference purposes) - we should have a public announcement that deals with
the export issue shortly complete with template functionality outside of our
existing DataPorter 2.0 product which was never intended to act as an
"export" function for Outlook contact folders.

That's on the assumption that the MS programs you mentioned (or any other
programs for that matter) have import facilities of any kind (which would be
surprising if they didn't).
