I have followed the support suggestion. The Contact list now appears as a
'choice' when I click to send a new message ("new"  & "to").. How do I make
it the default address book and save the extra step?  Thanks

There is an address book icon on your Toolbar in Outlook.
Click it.
In the Address Book click Tools > Options
The dialog box you see will be self explanatory in showing you how to set
which folder to display first.

OK, I am close-- I think the last issue now is that when I open the "new" and
"to" I am getting the correct address book to open as the default but the
names are displaying first name/last name. How do I reverse that order in the
display?

thanks

I tried that. I tried it both ways (first last & file as (Smith,John) )
niether seems to change how the names are displayed when I open the address
book via "new" & "to".. any other thoughts?
