I use a third party app to update the company Personal Adressbook (.PAB) in
the users profile.  One particular user's computer will not recgonized the
uploaded .PAB file as an outlook addressbook.  Any suggestions as to why this
is.  I really need to fix it.  Thanks

Not sure I understand your question. A PAB is not an Outlook Address Book.
PAB's have not been in use for years. When you say it is not being
recognized, what do you mean?

Yeah I know they are not used very much, but my Org. uses them. I am not sure
why, I am new. I know that a PAB is a personal address book  We have a third
party app which pulls in a .PAB from a server to the users local personal
address book which is set up in the users profile.   On one workstation, when
I try to map the addressbook to the .pab file which is created on the hard
drive by the third party app, outlook tells me that it is not a valid
addressbook file. It does not even display the office icon next to the file
name (it does on all other workstations).  All of the other workstations work
as advertised. I am sure that it has something to do with the users
workstation, when the user goes to lunch I am going to try to repair the
office installation.  Any insight would be helpful.
Thanks

The only thing that Outlook can do natively with PAB files is add them to
the profile as an address book service separate from the Outlook Address
Book or import them into the users Contacts Folder. Anything beyond that
would be in the purview of your third party app, and I have no idea what
type of "address book" it might be creating for your users.
PAB's have been out of use for so long that I'm not aware of any utilities
that even manage them or can repair them anymore. The best information I
know of on PAB's is here:
