Export adress book failure

When I try to export the address book I get the following:  "..cannot start
import/export engine?  Would you like to install it?"  I reply Yes and get
the following: "...cannot start import/export engine because of windows
installer error 1635."

When  I insert the Office 200 Professional CD to try a repair, a get the
Microsoft chimes and nothing else.  I can "open" the CD and run setup but get
a message that a patch package can't be opened.

I recently installed XP SP2.  Could this have caused the problem?

What is the solution?

Clarify your post. The address book in Outlook has no export function. Only
the Contacts Folder would have that.

Sorry.  I am trying the export feature in the Contacts Folder.  And I see
that I cut off the year 2000 in describing Office 2000 Professional.

You'll need to post this to an Office group, then. They handle problems with
the Office installer there. There appears to be a conflict between the
version you have installed and the CD from which you are trying to install
new features.
